The “Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU), Stage 5 with Necrosis, Forefoot” model by MEDICAL FX Germany is a realistic silicone model on a compact hexagonal base for the illustrative depiction of a diabetic foot ulcer in its final stage with extensive necrosis.
The model shows the forefoot with toes and reproduces extensive black necrosis (gangrene) across the entire forefoot region. At the line of demarcation to the still-vital tissue, exposed tendons and deeper tissue layers become visible, as typically occurs in diabetic foot syndrome at its most advanced stage.
The model is suitable for the training and continuing education of medical professionals, as well as for courses in the field of wound management and diabetic foot syndrome. It is made of high-quality silicone with a realistic appearance.
The model is part of a set of five stages (Stage 1 to 5) that realistically depicts the course of the disease from a superficial ulcer through to extensive necrosis, making it particularly suitable for the comparative presentation of the individual wound stages.
