Left – “Sinus Tracts”: Multiple interconnected tunnels with fistula formation. Demonstration of “deroofing”: the uppermost layer of skin can be removed together with the fistula plug, allowing the inflamed cavities to heal openly – without removing unnecessarily large amounts of healthy tissue.
Centre – Removable Fistula: Demonstration of how a large fistula is surgically removed, leaving the surrounding tissue “cleaned”.
Right – Abscess Opening: Pus can emerge from the opening – represented by a yellowish, squeezable bubble – once the “skin cover” is lifted.
